Sherri Harrington

Admissions Director

As Admissions Director at Chowan River, Sherri Harrington brings her wealth of experience and expertise to serve as the first point of contact for new families and residents. With a Bachelor of Science degree from Liberty University and 35 years in the long-term care industry, Sherri plays a crucial role in facilitating a seamless transition for residents. Her passion lies in guiding and assisting families through the enrollment process, alleviating their administrative burdens, and ensuring a smooth transition into our community.

Her unique perspective on the importance of her role is deeply rooted in her personal experiences. She had a close relationship with her grandparents and spent weekends at their home, where their friends became her friends. This early affinity for older adults became a driving force in her life. When her grandfather was admitted to a skilled facility and spent the rest of his days there, Sherri was just a young teenager. The environment planted a seed in her spirit, and that seed has continued to grow throughout her career. In college, she chose to do her internship in a skilled facility, solidifying her commitment to long-term care.
